Moving farther away (or not)

At the end of June we moved away from Bowmanville, Ontario (where my brain tumour story started) to a hobby farm about 125 km farther east. Simultaneously I rented an apartment in Toronto so that I could eliminate the lengthy commute. So now I live Monday-Friday in Toronto and weekends at the farm. There’s lots of work to be done on the farm and renovations to make to the farm house. I have started a pictorial blog showing our progress which can be found here

    Hello John:

I found your site while visiting the Virtual Trials website. My wife was diagnosed with anaplastic astrocytoma in October 2008. We are also from Canada and live in Streetsville, just west of Toronto (part of Mississauga). She has had surgery, radiation/chemotherapy and is now on chemotherapy alone. I just wanted to drop you a note that as new members on this brain cancer journey, it is very much appreciated to read stories of survival such as yours. It gives us encouragement and hope. My best wishes to you for continued good health. God bless you and your family. Thanks for sharing your story.

    Hi John,

    How are you?

Firstly I would like to congratulate you on reaching 11 years from diagnosis, this is wonderful to hear! It is also great that you have continued to write your story here.

Secondly, I run a website here in the UK providing information and support to anyone affected by a high grade brain tumour and on this site we have a ‘Stories of Hope’ section, I was wondering if you would consider allowing us to use your story on our website? Please contact me on the email address I have provided if you would like to talk about this in further details with me.

Our website is currently offline but will be back up and running tonight or tomorrow morning if you would like to take a look before getting back to me.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Your BT Buddy

I have read your very encouraging story. I was diagnosed recently with stage GBM.
I am currently receiving treatment in the form of radiation and temodar. I was wondering if you could provide me with the name of your neuo-oncologist. Because of the wait time in Canada I was able thru a friend of mine to start treatment at the Mayo Clinic. I last treatment here is Sept. 12 and I will be returning home where I would like to continue my followup. Of interest, in looking at your hobby farm and its location, my home is approx. 45 minutes north of your farm.
Hope to hear from you soon.
